“Girlfriend” Renewed, “Homeland” Goes To Hulu

Starz used their panel at today’s Television Critics Association to announce that Steven Soderbergh’s critically-acclaimed limited drama series “The Girlfriend Experience” has been greenlit for a second season. The new season will focus on an entirely new characters and plotlines.

Soderbergh returns as executive producer, along with Philip Fleishman, Lodge Kerrigan, Amy Seimetz, and Jeff Cuban. Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz will serve as showrunners, writers and directors for the fourteen-episode scripted anthology series.

That isn’t the only premium cable series news today as Showtime and Hulu have announced that they’ve come to a deal in which Showtime’s flagship drama series “Homeland” will be made available to Hulu subscribers with the first four seasons available for streaming starting today.

Hulu has nabbed the exclusive off-network SVOD rights to “Homeland,” though the series continues to be available through Showtime’s platforms including last year’s fifth season run.
