Last week came word that Netflix is reviving Amy Sherman-Palladino’s beloved dramedy “Gilmore Girls” for four 90-minute telemovies that would premiere on the streaming service.
Today, TV Line reports that there’s a specific reason for this structure. It turns out each episode will represent a different three-month season (Summer/Fall/Winter/Spring) over the course of one calendar year.
Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino will pen and direct all four telemovies which which will be set in the present day – roughly eight years after the series ended. Negotiations are currently underway with the show’s primary cast.
