“Community” star Gillian Jacobs has joined the cast of Fox’s adaptation of the R.L. Stine horror books “Fear Street” at Chernin Entertainment. Leigh Jeniak is directing the trilogy which is currently shooting back-to-back in Georgia.
The first film is set in 1994 in the town of Shadyside and focuses on a group of teens that discover that the deadly events occurring in their town have not only been happening for centuries but are also connected.
The other stories are set in 1978 and 1666 before coming back around to 1994. Jacobs appears in two time periods starting with the 1994 one as she is the survivor of a massacre that takes place in the 1978 one.
The plan was to originally release the films a month apart theatrically, but with Fox now under Disney’s control it’s not certain how it will be released. ownership. When the movie was being developed, there was talk of a unique plan in which the trilogy would be theatrically distributed consecutively about a month apart.
Jacobs next stars in Amblin’s horror tale “Larry” and lends her voice to Amazon’s all-star series adaptation of the Robert Kirkman comic “Invincible”.
