Gillespie Ditching “Prejudice and Zombies”?

Update: Lionsgate reps tell STYD there’s no truth to this report and Gillespie is still attached.

Original: The film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s popular literary-zombie-mash-up “Pride And Prejudice And Zombies” has run into a major hiccup.

Australian helmer Craig Gillespie (“Fright Night”) has left the project according to Twitchfilm, once again throwing the project into disarray.

He follows David O. Russell and Mike White who were both previously attached and soon after departed the project. At the same time the search for a female lead continues with great difficulty and no candidate is near being locked down as yet.

Dominic Cooper remains attached to play Mr. Darcy despite Gillespie’s departure. Russell, Gillespie and Martin Noxon have all had goes on the script, no word as to how much of that will remain should a new director come onboard.
