Giles Lellouche Joins “Holmes” Sequel

French actor Gilles Lellouche (“Tell No One,” “Little White Lies”) confirmed to Canal+ (via Cinema Teaser & The Playlist) that he’s been cast in the upcoming “Sherlock Holmes” sequel.

Lellouche was informed Wednesday that he was cast though no word on what his role is aside from it being a minor villain role (though there’s speculation his role is that of ‘The Swede’). The film involves Holmes, Watson and a French gypsy (Noomi Rapace) on a cross-continent journey during which they’ll encounter Sherlock’s brother Mycroft (Stephen Fry) and the shadowy Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris).

The production is about to move its crew to Paris and Strasbourg for filming. Several days of shooting take place around Notre Dame Cathedral, though Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. will not be on hand for that.
