In the wake of today’s announcement by Disney Animation that the “Wreck-It Ralph” sequel has scored a March 9th 2018 release date, Disney Pictures have now moved up the Jack and the Beanstalk animated feature “Gigantic”.
Originally slated for that date, the film will now be pushed to a Thanksgiving launch on Wednesday, November 21st 2018. The project was first announced at D23 last summer with Nathan Greno (“Tangled”) set to direct.
In “Gigantic,” Jack goes up the tall plant and teams with a 60-foot tall, eleven-year-old girl giant named Inma. He agrees to help her find her way home. On top of the beanstalk, Jack encounters an entire world of giants from lots of different cultures.
Oscar-winning “Frozen” team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are set to provide the music.
