One of the more unusual reports this week was the news that Warner Bros. Pictures is courting Mel Gibson to direct “Suicide Squad 2.” Gibson shortly after confirmed that he and the studio are in very early discussions.
Today, in some new tweets from Variety’s Justin Kroll, it has been revealed that Gibson is keen to work on the sequel mostly due to the cast such as Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnaman, and Jared Leto.
Gibson has dismissed comic films in the past, but the ensemble nature here seems to be the big draw. Gibson and Mel Gibson were keen to film “The Acountant” a few years ago but that version of the film didn’t come together.
@krolljvar while some might say he said he would never do a comic book movie, heard he is more intrigued by this cast then material
