The new “Ghostbusters” reboot has had its first screenings to a very good critical response, with numerous reviews and the likes of Patton Oswalt gushing about what director Paul Feig has accomplished with the film. No matter how good the public reaction at large though, the film will always be remembered for the pre-release bile it has received from commentators online.
In fact, the movie itself has immortalised that on film. Yahoo UK reports that there’s a scene in the film where the girls address their haters following them uploading a video to YouTube of their first successful ‘bust’. They soon read out a bunch of the worst reactions and take the the piss out of them in the process.
While the scene was already in the script, in the wake of the fervent backlash in real life the actors decided to ad-lib a few more moments as their own response. “We did something on the day that slightly tweaked it” says McCarthy.
