Despite Bill Murray’s non-involvement and the passing of Harold Ramis, Sony Pictures is reportedly planning to rework the script that they have been developing for a third “Ghostbusters” film.
According to THR, director Ivan Reitman is reportedly set to meet with the heads of the studio to figure out how they will move forward.
Previously Ramis, Murray, Aykroyd and Hudson were to cameo in the film to ‘pass the baton’ to a trio of newcomers. That is no longer the case so Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupinitsky’s script will now likely undergo some minor re-writes.
So could Aykroyd and Hudson appear? Hudson spoke with TMZ yesterday and said:
“Well there can’t be another Ghostbusters without Harold. It will be a Ghost- something, but it won’t be… That was always my fear – that something would happen before we all got together.”
