George Clooney has apparently entered early discussions to re-team with his frequent collaborator Steven Soderbergh on “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.” adaptation reports The Playlist.
Word came out Tuesday that Soderbergh had replaced David Dobkin in the director’s chair of this film adaptation of classic 60’s NBC TV series, with the auteur’s current writing collaborator Scott Z. Burns (“The Informant,” “Contagion”) chucking out the previous scripts and starting over from scratch. The new draft will keep the 60’s setting of the original TV series.
Now it seems Clooney and Soderbergh have already talked about the former potentially starring in the project which would begin production around this time next year at the earliest. Soderbergh is currently at work on “Contagion” and will then shoot his Liberace project next Summer.
