Geoffrey Rush has joined the cast of indigenous musical “Bran Nue Dae” says The Hollywood Reporter.
Rush, who plays a missionary priest, co-stars with aboriginal actor Ernie Dingo and Australian musicians Missy Higgins and Dan Sultan on the coming-of-age musical comedy.
Set in the outback town of Broome, the story celebrates family, forgiveness and aboriginal reconciliation.
Rachel Perkins (“Radiance”) adapted Jimmy Chi’s property for the screen and will direct the property. Andrew Lesnie will serve as cinematographer.
