In what is a first for a major studio film’s home video release, Paramount Home Media Distribution have announced that Ang Lee’s “Gemini Man” is coming to 4K Ultra HD disc with a 60 frames-per-second (FPS) frame rate as opposed to the regular 24 FPS.
Coming to Digital HD on December 23rd and then 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 14th, all the disc versions are packed with over an hour of fascinating bonus content, including an alternate opening, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes explorations of the film’s groundbreaking technology, interviews with the cast and crew, and more.
Only the 4K version has the 60FPS version, and that UHD also boasts Dolby Vision HDR and a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for home theaters. The film will also be the first-ever Dolby Vision high frame rate disc to be released.
The UHD will also include a visual effects featurette with a scene breakdown presented by WETA – all of which will be shown in 4K HDR at 60FPS.
