Garner To Lead HBO & Dunham’s “Camping”

Over a decade after “Alias” wrapped, its star Jennifer Garner will return to live-action television with a leading role in HBO’s forthcoming eight-episode limited comedy series “Camping” based on the Sky Atlantic series.

The series chronicles a camping trip to celebrate the 45th birthday of the husband of Garner’s character Kathryn Siddell-Bauers, a controlling L.A. mom. Along for the ride are her meek sister, her holier than thou ex-best friend and a free-spirited tagalong. So begins a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten. There’s also bears.

“Girls” bosses Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner will serve as showrunners and both write and executive produce alongside original creator Julia Davis. Filming begins in Los Angeles this spring.
