Former “99 Homes” co-stars Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon have locked down some new projects.
First up, ex-Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield will team with Oscar-winner James Marsh (“The Theory Of Everything”) on the biopic “Instrumental” which will shoot this year in the UK.
Based on acclaimed concert pianist James Rhodes’ bestselling memoir, the story deals with how the pianist prodigy used music to save his life after suffering sexual abuse, spinal damage, eating disorders and PTSD.
Meanwhile Michael Shannon has boarded the romantic coming-of-age drama “Swing” which is set in the world of elite varsity rowing. Howard Deutch (“The Replacements”) helms and filming begins in September in New Jersey.
Vojin Gjaja penned the script in which is set in 1999 and centers on a group of friends and crew teammates in their last year of college whose lives are changed forever when a Vietnam vet (Shannon) takes over as coach of their dysfunctional team.
