Andrew Garfield (“The Amazing Spider-Man”) is in negotiations and Daniel Bruhl (“Rush”) is in talks to star alongside Helen Mirren in Simon Curtis’ “The Woman In Gold” at The Weinstein Company, Origin Pictures and BBC Films.
Mirren plays Maria Altmann, a woman who joined forces with lawyer Randol Schoenberg (Garfield) to take legal action against the Austrian government to recover art works that once belonged to her family but were stolen by the Nazis.
One of the paintings was Gustav Klimt’s The Lady In Gold, a portait of Altmann’s aunt. Bruhl would play an Austrian official.
