After the cinematic trailer a while back, Disney and Lucasfilm have now premiered the first gameplay footage from “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order,” the upcoming new “Star Wars” game title from Electronic Arts and “Titanfall” and “Apex Legends” developer Respawn Entertainment.
The nearly 15 minutes of footage reportedly comes from around the three-hour mark into the game’s campaign and is set on the Wookie home planet of Kashyyyk. Forest Whitaker’s Saw Gerrera character from “Rogue One” also appears. Made in Unreal Engine 4, ‘Fallen Order’ is confirmed to be a single-player adventure story game with no multiplayer and no microtransactions or loot boxes either now or later.
“Gotham” and “Shameless” star Cameron Monaghan plays Cal Kestis, a padawan who survived after Order 66 given at the end of “Revenge of the Sith”. Cal is hiding from the Empire in plain sight but is forced to go on the run when he exposes his Force powers.
Along the way, Cal will make new friends, like his mysterious companion Cere, as well as run into some familiar faces, all while being accompanied by his faithful droid BD-1.
Cal is being pursued by the Second Sister, one of the Empire’s elite Inquisitors, who seeks to hunt Cal down and extinguish this surviving Jedi with the help of the terrifying Purge Troopers, special Imperial forces trained to seek out Jedi and aid the Inquisitors in their dastardly work.
“God of War 3” director Stig Asmussen is helming the game title which hits PC, PS4 and XB1 on November 15th.
