Though the upcoming seventh season of HBO’s big-budget fantasy series “Game of Thrones” runs notably shorter at seven episodes, compared to the usual ten, the individual episodes will see some major variations in length.
Speaking with EW this week, showrunner Dan Weiss says that the new season will contain both the longest and the shortest episodes in the show’s history. Two episodes run over the 60-minute mark, and the finale of the season will reportedly clock in at a whopping 90 minutes. On the flipside, the shortest one of the batch will run just 50 minutes.
HBO hasn’t yet officially confirmed the run times for the new episodes. The eighth and final season of the show won’t hit the cable network until 2019, but the seventh season will arrive on July 16th.
