Xbox 720
An apparent internal Microsoft e-mail sent to all full-time employees working on the next Xbox has essentially said that the next-gen box will NOT require an ‘always on’ connection to play games as previously reported. [Source: Ars Technica]

Playstation 4
While the ‘always online’ issue has been debated at Microsoft, Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida says that was never an issue with the Playstation 4. He says:

“Did we consider it [always online]? No, we didn’t consider it. The main reason being that many countries don’t have robust internet connections. It makes sense for people to have internet connections to play online games, but for offline games, there are many countries that we saw do not really have robust internet.” [Source: Game Informer via CNET]

inFamous: Second Son
Plot details have emerged about the game which treats the ‘good’ ending of “inFamous 2” as canon. The action is now set in Seattle seven years after Cole MacGrath’s death. The new hero is 24-year old Native-American heritage Delsin Rowe.

Like Cole, Delsin is a ‘Conduit’. Instead of electricity though he controls smoke. The control interface will be very similar, though the touchpad will come into play when you need to absorb smoke. [Source: IGN]
