Game News: Order, Infamous, Dogs, Arkham

The Order: 1886
In what could be a first for a game, the upcoming PS4 exclusive game “The Order: 1886” is trying to be as cinematic as possible – which means 30fps and 1080p image, but with an aspect ratio of 2.4:1 like most major movies (effectively 1920×800 resolution).

This has caused an outcry from hardcore 1.78:1 1080p 60fps only fanboys which the developers have had to responded to. One upside to the seeming downscaling is that the image quality itself is expected to be stellar with 4x multi-sampling anti-aliasing – a costly feature that stresses even powerful PC hardware systems.

The results will be seen when the first gameplay trailer is released in coming weeks. [Source: Examiner]

Infamous: Second Son
Italian GameStop pre-orders of the upcoming PS4 game “Infamous: Second Son” include something extra. Along with a copy of the game, and energy drinks, there’s also a pack of glow-in-the-dark condoms. [Source: Game Revolution]

Watch Dogs
Ubisoft still won’t give a definitive release date for their much anticipated title “Watch Dogs,” but have confirmed that the game is due in the first quarter of the publisher’s new financial year.

In actual calendar terms, that means sometime between the start of April and the end of June. They also confirm that the Wii U version of the game has been delayed. [Source: Fansided]

Batman Arkham Origins
Warner Bros. Montreal has insisted that bugs with “Batman: Arkham Origins” are going to stay. Community manager Mercury released the following statement on the company’s official forum:

“The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums. If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.” [Source: Metro]

Grand Theft Auto V
Fans of “Grand Theft Auto V” have been releasing videos of some astonishing mods for jailbroken PS3’s in recent weeks. Two that are getting a lot of play in the past few days though involve what the massive Los Santos environment would look like with the ocean either completely gone, or tsunamis having flooded the entire city.
