20th Century Fox has announced a release date for the “X-Men” spinoff “Gambit” starring Channing Tatum. The film will now be released on February 14th 2019.
Tatum plays Remy LeBeau, a New Orleans native with the power to mentally manipulate kinetic energy.
Often armed with a staff and a deck of playing cards, the character is a fan favorite and was previously played by Taylor Kitsch in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”.
Gore Verbinski recently signed on to direct from a script by Josh Zetumer. Tatum, Reid Carolin, Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner will produce.
Fox also set a Christmas 2019 release for Chris Sanders’ “The Call of the Wild” and a November 6th 2020 release for “Ron’s Gone Wrong”. The latter is set in a world where robots have become children’s best friends.
