Producer Philip Lee has confirmed that the sci-fi action feature “Inversion” has been set for a late March shoot with casting now underway. The story follows a street-wise American con man and a Chinese physicist as they race against the clock to save the Earth from a loss of gravity.
Attending an In-Conversation event at the ongoing Singapore International Film Festival, Lee (“The Revenant,” “Cloud Atlas”) confirmed casting is ongoing. He’s also working on “Ship Breaker,” the first in a potential trilogy film adaptation of Paolo Bacigalupi’s young adult novels. Filming on that begins late 2018 under the direction of Paul Haggis.
Also today, Omega Underground reports that the “X-Men” spin-off “Gambit” has now set a March start of production ahead of a Feb 2019 release. Shooting will take place primarily in New Orleans.
