Galifianakis’ “Kidney,” “Will” Move Forward

Zach Galifianakis will re-team with his “The Campaign” co-star Will Ferrell in Richard Linklater’s film adaptation of Daniel Asa Rose’s comic memoir “Larry’s Kidney” at Focus Features. Scott Aversano will produce.

Ferrell will play author Rose, who traveled to China with his black-sheep cousin Larry (Galifianakis) and his mail-order bride to save Larry’s life by skirting the law and securing him a kidney transplant.

Galifianakis and Ferrell are also working together on the comedy “Will” which has just secured a director in the form of Oscar-winning director Michel Hazanavicius (“The Artist”).

Ferrell is only producing the film in which Galifianakis plays the rebellious guardian angel of a man (Paul Rudd).
