“Battlestar Galactica” and “Outlander” showrunner Ronald D. Moore is reportedly developing a new sci-fi drama that has been given a straight-to-series order by Apple.
The series, the third original series ordered by Apple, will explore what would have happened if the global space race had never ended. “Fargo” co-executive producers Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi co-created the series with Moore which Sony Pictures Television and Tail Ship Productions will produce.
Moore, who also wrote many key episodes of “Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and “Carnivale,” recently produced “Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams” series for Amazon.
Apple has previously ordered a morning show drama starring and executive produced by Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, and a reboot of Spielberg’s “Amazing Stories” from Bryan Fuller.
