The hiring of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” has met with both praise and criticism online, some called her too skinny and others just had a different idea in their head. What everyone seems to agree on though is the character is LONG overdue her time to shine on the big screen, with Gadot’s version being the first ever to be brought to film.
Talking about the challenge with Interview Magazine, Gadot is both excited about the role and has a good response to the critics out there:
“Oh, my God, I’m so excited about this role. I feel like I’ve been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for. There’s a lot of responsibility. But I have the best team and the best people to work with. It’s going to be an amazing ride, knock on wood.
No matter what you do, you can never please them all. People will always have something to say because that’s the way people are. And it’s okay. But for me, it’s my job. It’s my career. It’s my art. Whatever I do, I take it very seriously and I do my research and I give it my best. I just want to be able to shine and inspire people. And it’s not just about me. It’s the script and the story and the acting. I hope people are going to love it.”
Meanwhile a new rumor has surfaced about Robin in the film. The trailer suggests one of the previous people to have previously suited up as Robin met their demise at the hands of The Joker (Jared Leto).
Today, Heroic Hollywood reports that Zack Snyder’s son, Eli, a 6’0″ quarterback and athlete, will play Robin in what’s expected to be a flashback scene showcasing that death. Eli Snyder has worked with his dad twice before, playing a young Leonidas in “300” and a young Rorschach in “Watchmen”.
