G.I. Joe, “Captain America” Sequel Talk

Jaume Collet-Serra (“Unknown”), F Gary Gray (“The Italian Job”), and Jon Chu (“Step Up 2 The Streets”) are all candidates to helm the sequel to “G.I. Joe” for Paramount Pictures reports Latino Review.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“Zombieland”) penned the script for the follow-up to the 2009 live-action adaptation of the classic 80’s toy and cartoon line. Stephen Sommers helmed that film.

The site also reports that Marvel Studios have commissioned scribes Stephen McFeely & Christopher Markus to pen a sequel to this Summer’s “Captain America: The First Avenger”.

The pair penned the upcoming feature which is predominantly set in the 1940’s. The sequel would take place after the events of “The Avengers”, best guess is the ‘Bucky as Winter Soldier’ subplot would also come into play.

In the meantime the online world is sharing around a fan-made recut version of the “Captain America” Superbowl TV spot which has replaced the backing music with the satirical song “America F**k Yeah” from “Team America: World Police”.
