FX is reportedly currently in the process of developing a new limited series titled “Reservation Dogs” with “Jojo Rabbit” and “Thor: Ragnarok” director Taika Waititi attached to co-write and direct the pilot.
Waititi has also signed onto the miniseries as executive producer along with co-writer Sterlin Harjo. The coming-of-age drama that will follow the story of four teenagers in a Native American housing project in Oklahoma who commit petty crimes.
The series marks a second collaboration between Waititi and FX, who have actively been working on a second season of “What We Do in the Shadows” based on Waititi’s 2014 comedy feature.
Tweeting about the news, Waititi says: “Indigenous stories by indigenous filmmakers. Getting to create a story told through a native lens with my old friend @sterlinharjo makes this whole journey worthwhile. Mauri ora! #RezDogz”
