FX Orders Alex Garland’s “Devs” To Pilot

“Ex Machina” and “Annihilation” writer/director Alex Garland’s sci-fi TV series “Devs” has been officially ordered to pilot by FX.

Garland wrote and will direct the tech thriller which follows a young computer engineer named Lily who investigates the secretive development division of her employer.

Said employer is a cutting-edge tech company based in San Francisco, a company which she believes is behind the disappearance of her boyfriend.

The project is said to be an eight-part limited series that works on its own but could get another season if so desired. He previously indicated he’s finished writing all eight episodes and would like to direct each but for now he’s only set to helm the pilot.

Garland’s “Annihilation” is now in U.S. cinemas and hit Netflix earlier this week.
