FX & BBC’s “Taboo” Gets A Second Season

The Tom Hardy-led drama series “Taboo” has been renewed for a second season by FX and BBC One.

The first season was among the highest-rated new cable dramas of the past year in the U.S., the first season delivering 5.8 million Total Viewers weekly across all platforms.

Hardy, Steven Knight, Ridley Scott and Chips Hardy executive produce the dark and gritty 19th century drama about a shipping empire’s scion who returns home from years in Africa to secure his father’s legacy and take revenge on those who betrayed the man.

Reviews for the first season were quite good but not the slam dunk many had expected.
