Last year came the news that filmmaker Michael Mann had assembled a director’s cut of his much-derided hacking thriller “Blackhat” starring Chris Hemsworth.
Screened at a festival event February last year in New York City to better (but still not great) reviews compared to the theatrical run, this alternate version has yet to surface anywhere else…until today.
A promo on FX has confirmed that the director’s cut of the film will score its World Broadcast Premiere tonight on the cable channel in the United States. At present, there still doesn’t appear to be a home video release for this version.
The broadcast hits the same day the director’s edition of Mann’s “Heat” hits Blu-ray and VOD in the United States.
