Fury Road Dominates OFCS, SFFC Awards

“Mad Max: Fury Road” scored Best Picture, Director, Editing and Cinematography from the Online Film Critics Society for their 19th annual awards – easily dominating the field. “Carol” was also a big winner with three awards including Best Adapted Screenplay and nods for both its leading ladies Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara.

Other winners include “Inside Out” for Best Animated Feature, “The Assassin” for Best Foreign Language Film, “The Look of Silence” for Best Documentary , Michael Fassbender (“Steve Jobs”) and Oscar Isaac (“Ex Machina”) for acting awards, and “Spotlight” for Best Original Screenplay.

“Spotlight” took Best Picture at the San Francisco Film Critics awards, but ‘Fury Road’ dominated again with Best Director, Cinematography and Editing awards while “Carol” took a Best Production Design award. “Anomalisa” won Best Animated Feature, “Son of Saul” won Best Foreign Language Film, and “Listen to Me Marlon” won Best Documentary.

Other winners include “Love and Mercy” and “Brooklyn” for Best Original and Adapted Screenplay respectively. On the acting front the mix included Paul Dano (“Love and Mercy”), Saoirse Ronan (“Brooklyn”), Michael Shannon (“99 Homes”) and Mya Taylor (“Tangerine”). A special citation was handed out to “The Forbidden Room”.
