Earlier this week came a set video of Tom Cruise’s hitting the side of a building and limping away whilst shooting an action sequence for Christopher McQuarrie’s “Mission: Impossible 6”.
Today, British paper The Sun claims to have more details on the incident and say that the actor did ‘serious damage’ and has been left with two broken bones in his ankle requiring months of recovery.
Their source claims it’s severe enough that filming will be postponed for four months: “The injury is worse than was at first feared. Tom did serious damage and will need months to recover. He is the film’s biggest star and everything revolves around him. The movie’s bosses had no choice other than to postpone the filming.”
Cruise is now expected to head home to the US for treatment, and if the report of the delay is true then the planned Summer 2018 release may be pushed back.
