After exiting the project last year, filmmaker Antoine Fuqua looks to be back in discussions to helm the “Scarface” remake at Universal Pictures.
Fuqua previously bowed out over scheduling conflicts with the filming on “The Equalizer” sequel, with the studio then turning to David Ayer. Ayer then ended up parting ways due to his own scheduling conflicts, and with the delays that followed the chance for Fuqua to return opened up.
No official offer is reportedly yet on the table, but discussions are underway. Ayer, Jonathan Herman, and Joel Coen and Ethan Coen penned the script while Dylan Clark and Martin Bregman will produce.
