Netflix has revealed a new full trailer and photos from Martin Scorsese’s highly-anticipated crime drama feature “The Irishman,” the release coming ahead of this week’s world premiere at the New York Film Festival.
The trailer and photos offer a good look at the de-aging technology used on Robert De Niro’s Frank Sheeran character over the course of his lifetime. Clocking in at 209 minutes, the epic saga of organized crime in post-war America is told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran (De Niro), a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century.
Spanning decades, the film chronicles one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in American history, the disappearance of legendary union boss Jimmy Hoffa (Al Pacino), and offers a journey through the hidden corridors of organized crime: its inner workings, rivalries, and connections to mainstream politics. Joe Pesci also stars as Pennsylvania Mafia boss Russell Bufalino.
The film will debut in select theaters on November 1st ahead of arriving on Netflix globally shortly thereafter on November 27th.
