“Bridesmaids” and “Spy” helmer Paul Feig switches gears and tries his hand at the psychological thriller genre with the Fox 2000 mystery drama “A Simple Favor” which released a new trailer today.
Based on Darcey Bell’s twist-filled 2017 debut novel and co-written by Feig and Jessica Sharzer, Anna Kendrick plays a mommy vlogger who seeks to uncover the truth behind the sudden disappearance of her best friend Emily (Blake Lively) from their small town.
Betrayals, secrets and revelations are soon revealed. British-Malaysian actor Henry Golding plays Emily’s husband in the project which is said to have a blackly comic tone though isn’t a satire. Linda Cardellini, Rupert Friend and Eric Johnson also star in the film opening September 14th.
Excited to present the gorgeous new poster for @ASimpleFavor and happy to let you know that there’s another surprise coming tomorrow. Stay tuned! I can’t wait for you all to see this movie! #ASimpleFavor @AnnaKendrick47 @blakelively pic.twitter.com/P3Cu4rtRjy
