Fukunaga, Sachs Team On “Christodora” Series

Two of the more acclaimed filmmakers working today – “Beasts of No Nation” helmer Cary Fukunaga and “Love is Strange” director Ira Sachs – are set to team on a limited TV series adaptation of “Tim Murphy’s new novel “Christodora” at Paramount Television.

Published this week, the “Tales of the City”-esque story follows a diverse set of characters whose fates intertwine in an iconic building in Manhattan’s East Village, the Christodora. It also spans decades from the 1980s to the present.

Sachs and Mauricio Zacharias (“Little Men”) will write the adaptation, Sachs is set to direct and Fukunaga will produce.
