Freida Pinto (“Slumdog Millionaire,” “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”) is reportedly set to reunite with Andy Serkis in his directorial debut “Jungle Book: Origins” at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Based on Rudyard Kipling’s classic story, Pinto will join Matthew Rhys and Rohan Chand in the live-action roles rather than those doing the performance capture for the animals.
Serkis, Jonathan Cavendish, Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett and Benedict Cumberbatch star as some members of that performance capture cast.
Callie Kloves penned the script and Serkis will produce with Steve Kloves. The film is targeting an October 6th 2017 release.
