Frank Marshall is set to direct the shipwreck drama “The Longest Night” for Paramount Pictures and Conde Nast Entertainment.
Based on Sean Flynn’s 2008 GQ article, the story chronicles a true-life Coast Guard rescue operation during Easter six years ago when an Alaskan trawler sank in frigid waters.
The ship carried 47 people when it went down 180 miles from shore in 15-foot swells. The Coast Guard managed to rescue all but five.
Jonathan Lemkin (“Lethal Weapon 4”) adapted the screenplay, while Dawn Ostroff and Jeremy Steckler are producing.
