“Six Feet Under” and “American Horror Story” Emmy nominee Frances Conroy has been tapped to star in the scripted drama based on Stephen King’s 1980 novella “The Mist” for Spike TV.
This marks first casting of the ten-episode series about a seemingly innocuous mist that seeps into a small town and creates immense havoc. Christian Torpe is penning and executive producing the series which begins production this summer ahead of a 2017 premiere.
Conroy will play Nathalie, a modern-day ecological martyr seemingly more connected to nature than most people, but her instincts about her fellow humans are dead on. “The Mist” will be Spike’s first scripted series in nine years.
