Fox’s “Isle of Dogs” Release Starts Small

It has been confirmed that Wes Anderson’s animated “Isle of Dogs” won’t be getting a wide release this weekend as some have hoped.

Animated Views reports that Fox will open the quirky comedy on only 27 screens nationwide this Friday. The film is set to open alongside “Sherlock Gnomes” and “Pacific Rim: Uprising”.

Fox will then platform release the film in subsequent weeks with an expansion on Wednesday, March 28th followed by a nationwide release on Friday, April 6th.

It has also been confirmed by Deadline that the film has secured an official release date in China with the film to open April 20th – only the third Fox Searchlight title ever to be released in China.
