FOX’s “24” To Be Remade For Japan

TV Asahi is set to produce “24 Japan,” a remake of FOX’s iconic real-time thriller series reports Livedoor (via Kotaku).

The cast has yet to be announced for the project which will be set in Japan during the 2020s and will both remake and update events of the first season to suit the new location and time period.

One change will be the target which won’t be the first African-American U.S. President but Japan’s first female prime minister.

TV Asahi reportedly spent two years negotiating for the property and surprised many with their continued desire to do this. The series had a cult following with folks rushing to video shops as soon as new discs were released.
