Continuing the trend of U.S. remakes of Danish dramas like “The Killing” and “The Bridge,” Fox is developing “Frayed” which Sheldon Turner (“Up in the Air”) will script.
A remake of the 2010 Dutch miniseries “Bellicher,” which itself was an adaptation of Charles den Tex’s “The Power Of Mr. Miller,” the new take centers on an arrogant and entitled corporate consultant who gets embroiled in a grand conspiracy that forces him to go on the run.
As his entire life unravels, he realises that the only man who can help him is a perpetually paranoid and possibly delusional former NSA agent. The aim is to do an 1970s thriller-style series like “The Parallax View” and “Three Days Of The Condor”.
The project has received a script commitment plus penalty. Turner, Jennifer Klein, Rob Golenberg and Alon Aranya will executive produce for Sony TV.
