Fox has passed on picking up Tina Fey’s multicamera comedy TV series “Cabot College” and has declined to pick up the options on the cast, meaning the project is effectively dead.
Matt Hubbard penned the script which landed at Fox following a multiple-network bidding war with a hefty series commitment attached. The project was subsequently picked up to pilot and was considered a frontrunner for a six-episode order.
That changed when Fox chairman Kevin Reilly stepped down and studio chiefs Dana Walden and Gary Newman were tapped to oversee the network. As with any studio executive regime change, projects which look assured under the predecessor’s run are now on shaky ground.
