Fox has scored the film rights to the Fourth Realm Trilogy, a series of sci-fi novels by author John Twelve Hawks says The Hollywood Reporter.
The first book in the series, “The Traveler”, is set in an alternate U.S. society which is under constant surveillance by a secret organisation. Travelers are a now nearly extinct group of people who can “project their spirit into other dimensions”.
The main plot follows Maya, a reluctant Harlequin (guardians of the Travelers) who must protect two Traveler brothers who are somewhat naive.
“Watchmen” co-scribe Alex Tse will adapt the property with Gil Netter and Andrew Tennenbaum producing. The books proved best sellers, helped by the author who is so reclusive neither his editor or agent has ever met him.
