20th Century Fox has acquired screen rights to upcoming fantasy novel “The Seems” as a directing and producing vehicle for helmer Shawn Levy (“Night at the Museum,” “The Pink Panther”) reports Variety.
“The Seems” is a parallel world where everything that humans take for granted is manufactured and designed. When a glitch occurs, a young boy is drafted to correct it and save the world.
“The Seems: The Glitch in Sleep,” the first installment in a multi-book series, will be published by Bloomsbury USA in the fall.
Levy, who is prepping “The Hardy Men” for Ben Stiller and Tom Cruise, will produce through his 21 Laps banner. Authors John Hulme and Mike Wexler will write the script.
