James Cameron and 20th Century Fox have announced and expanded their plans for the upcoming “Avatar” sequels.
No longer content with just a trilogy, the filmmaker and studio have revealed that a fourth film in the series will be made to go along with the previously announced second and third.
In fact, the three sequels are set to be filmed simultaneously with production beginning next year. The films will then open annually each December from 2016 through to 2018.
Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”), Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Rise of the Planets of the Apes”), and Shane Salerno (“Savages”) are set to collaborate with Cameron on the scripts for the second, third and fourth film respectively.
