Forster Remaking British Jury

Fox 2000 has acquired rights to remake Granada-produced 2002 British miniseries “The Jury” with Marc Forster (“Monster’s Ball,” “The Kite Runner”) directing and Beau Willimon (“Farragut North”) writing the script reports Variety.

The original mini, scripted by Peter Morgan (“The Queen,” “The Last King of Scotland”) and directed by Pete Travis, revolved around the trial of a young Sikh student charged with killing a classmate tormenter.

The drama dug into the lives of the jurors as they moved toward a verdict. The original starred the likes of Gerard Butler, Derek Jacobi, Helen McCrory, and Sylvia Syms.

The adaptation follows in the footsteps of the upcoming Ed Norton/Brad Pitt starrer “State of Play,” also an adaptation of a recent all-star British mini-series.
