Former Bond Scribes Pen “Barbarella”

Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who have worked on the scripts of every James Bond film since 1999’s “The World is Not Enough,” are set to pen a new TV series based on classic 1960s sci-fi character “Barbarella”.

Purvis and Wade will reimagine Jean-Claude Forest’s comic character made famous by the Jane Fonda-led 1968 film.

“Drive” director Nicolas Winding Refn is set to direct the pilot and executive produce the series. Gaumont International Television, Canal+ and Martha De Laurentiis will produce.
