As “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” heads to home video next week, Harrison Ford popped up on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Ellen” this week to promote the release with talk turning towards arguably his two most iconic characters – Han Solo and Indiana Jones.
Specifically it focused on the new films on the way in 2018 and 2019 respectively that would see the return of those characters. In regards to the former, a young Han Solo film from Phil Lord and Chris Miller, Ellen DeGeneres asked him if he had any advice for a young actor taking on the role. It was simple: “Don’t do it. First, it seems like everything’s going swimmingly, and you put in 25, 30 years, and then they just let you go. And they show you the door and say, ‘We’re done with you, thanks very much.'”
In regards to Dr. Jones though, which he’s reprising his role in, Ford is much more excited about that. He tells Kimmel: “I’ll be ready – I’m excited about it. The opportunity to work with Steven again on this character which has brought pleasure to so many, not to mention me – it’s fun. It’s great fun to play this character, it’s great fun to work with Steven. I’m looking forward to it.”
