“Force Awakens” VFX Reel Shows Impressive Visuals

Though J.J. Abrams spoke a lot about how many practical effects were used while filming “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” there’s no question that an absolute ton of computer animation was also employed.

In a new four-minute visual effects house reel, the film’s visual effects get broken down with a showcasing of just how many different elements went into the compositing of various shots by the wizards at Industrial Light and Magic. The Starkiller Base trench run in particular is outright insane in terms of how many moving parts went into its creation. Check out the clip below:
