With J.J. Abrams “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” now about three months out, the rumor mill keeps churning and the newest one today has gotten many excited.
Both Schmoes Know and Heroic Hollywood are reporting that the new film will feature a post-credits stinger and teaser for “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” due out next year.
Production is already well underway on the Gareth Edwards-directed ‘Rogue’ so the timing sounds right. The question is whether Abrams himself is happy with the Marvel-style idea.
The rumor comes as several other “Star Wars”-related bits of information emerged this week. Benicio Del Toro has spoken more about his role in “Star Wars: Episode VIII” but tells ET that he’s not the clear cut bad guy that is being speculated:
“I don’t know if he’s a villain. People are saying that, but it’s like they read a different script than I read. It’s nice to keep people in the dark, a little bit of mystery is good. If they want to believe it’s the villain, then good.”
Finally there’s a featurette for the second season of “Star Wars: Rebels” on Disney XD. The show returns October 14th.
